We didn’t invent the sunshade.
We just got bored of looking at it.

WHEELERIE makes design-led car windshield sunshades for the UAE, built for serious sun protection without the usual silver-foil look.

We spend a lot of time choosing the car.
Then we stick a giant silver thing in it.

Wheelerie thinks the little things deserve better too…
...so we fixed the part nobody was asking us to fix.

Meet Tessie

One of our first-ever designs, made back in 2022 and never launched. Featuring "Please return to Daddy Elon" on one side and "Tessie" on the other, finished with a very Elsa Peretti-coded Tiffany-blue heart and a direct reference to Return to Tiffany & Co. A small tribute to the era when owning a Tesla felt like having a slightly too personal relationship with the man who made it. It wouldn't have felt right to launch without bringing back one of our original 2022 designs. So here we are. It was 2022. We stand by it.

Meet Kimmy

Again, one of our first-ever designs, made back in 2022 and never launched. Inspired by Kim's very famous "Honey, would you put a bumper sticker on a Bentley?", and naturally decorated with the equally famous crying Kimoji. I genuinely can't think of anything that screams 2022 more than this design. So, obviously, if we were going to launch four years later, we had to bring it back. Also, @ any of the Kardashians: if you want this sunshade for your Bentley(s), hmu.

Meet John

Also, one of our first-ever designs, made back in 2022 and never launched. When we were obsessing over launching this brand, we came across "For I did not speak on my own accord." Naturally, we thought of a Honda Accord. And not only was that apparently enough of a reason to make it a sunshade, it was enough of a reason to make it for all Hondas. We still think it's hilarious. No further questions.

Things people actually ask

Do car sunshades actually work in Dubai heat?
Yes, but only for what they physically cover. A windshield sunshade blocks direct sunlight from reaching the dashboard, steering wheel and front seats, so those surfaces stay noticeably cooler and take longer to heat up. It does not cool the air inside the car, and it does not make a parked car safe in UAE summer — never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle, shade or no shade.
How much does a sunshade lower the interior temperature?
It mainly lowers surface temperature rather than air temperature. Independent testing of windshield shades generally shows dashboard and steering wheel surfaces reading meaningfully cooler than an unshaded car, with a much smaller effect on cabin air, which is still heated by the body panels, glass and roof. WHEELERIE has not published its own measured figures yet, so we would rather not quote a number we cannot stand behind.
What size sunshade fits a Tesla Model 3 or Model Y?
Model 3 and Model Y need different panels, because the Model Y windshield is taller and wider and both have a steep rake. Measure the width at the widest point, the height at the centre and the width near the roofline before buying, following our car sunshade size guide. WHEELERIE is pre-launch and has not published a vehicle compatibility table yet; final sizing goes out to the waitlist first.
Will a sunshade damage my windshield or dashboard?
A correctly fitted fabric or fabric-backed windshield sunshade does not damage glass or trim. Two things do cause problems: grit trapped between the panel and the glass, which can scuff the inside surface, and suction cups or adhesive mounts left on hot glass for long periods. Keep the panel clean, avoid suction mounts, and do not force an oversized shade into place where it presses hard against the dashboard.
How do you fold and store a windshield sunshade?
Most windshield sunshades fold by bringing the two outer edges toward the middle and then collapsing the panel along its existing creases, so it always folds the same way. Store it flat behind a seat, in a door pocket or in a sleeve rather than crumpled in the footwell, since repeated random creasing is what eventually breaks a panel. Never fold it around dust or sand still on the surface.
Are custom-printed sunshades legal in the UAE?
Yes. A printed windshield sunshade is a removable interior accessory used while the car is parked, not a window tint or a permanent modification, so UAE tinting rules do not apply to it. The only legal requirement that matters is that it must be removed before driving, because nothing may obstruct the driver's view through the windshield.

What makes WHEELERIE different from a normal silver sunshade?
The design. WHEELERIE sunshades are original printed designs made for the front windshield instead of generic reflective silver panels, with the same basic job of blocking direct sun from the cabin. Each design is drawn in-house rather than licensed and dropped onto stock material.
